Who Pays What Taxes???

If you think the rebate is not a "scam" and you are happy with our progressive federal income tax, then Karl Marx (and I) would call you a socialist, not that it's a bad thing as long as you believe in enslaving others because that is exactly what socialism and progressive taxation really are, forms of slavery. When you take others money by force, you have taken away their right to their life, liberty and property, but why bring up the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution in a talk about America's government? Isn't the Constitution the thing all congressmen and presidents swear to uphold before taking office? By the way, the Federal income tax is immoral and unconstitutional and a fraud! Is it crazy that the bottom 50% of americans pay only 4% of the federal taxes!!!

This is from the IRS website. The bottom section reveals the percent of taxes paid by income level. The latest figures are for 2003, but go back to 1985.

Top 5% pay 54.36 % of taxes
Top 10% pay 65.84% of taxes
Top 25% pay 83.88% of taxes
Top 50% pay 96.54% of taxes
